Sponsored by the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA), May is Mobility Awareness Month!
At Promise Community Homes (PCH), mobility begins at home. More than half of our residents use a wheelchair or walker, so we regularly update ramps, bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, and other home features to ensure accessibility, safety, and comfort—because home should be a place of choice, independence, and access for all.
Thank you for your continuous support in helping PCH provide homes of choice for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). With your help, our residents have mobility and independence, living in homes that are accessible, affordable, and customized to fit their evolving needs. Whether it means easily coming and going from their home, safely taking a shower or bath, or smoothly making their way around their family room, kitchen, or bedroom, your involvement is what turns these basic needs into daily realities.
We cannot do the work we do without YOU! We hope you enjoy seeing some of the work you've helped make possible to improve the mobility of our residents, allowing them to live their best lives. PCH only succeeds in keeping the promise of accessible homes because of our supporters, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and social media champions! Thank you for helping us keep the promise of home for all!

| Earlier this year, this house got a brand-new, durable composite ramp to replace a previous aging structure.
The three ladies who call this house home frequently travel by foot to activities, appointments, and day programming at the community center next door. Now, they have a beautiful ramp that will last for years to come, helping them enter and exit their home safely to live their active lives! |

| This villa—two connected homes—recently received new flooring throughout every room!
The sturdy new floors ensure residents who utilize wheelchairs and other mobility aids have a smooth surface to move around with ease.
Our friends at Reinhold Flooring did a beautiful job on the installation.

| This house just received a newly poured concrete driveway and ramp and will soon get new handrails as well.
Mobility improvements can involve many different materials, aesthetics, and considerations—all thoughtfully chosen to balance function and dignity. This smooth, even surface will ensure the gentlemen residing in this home have smooth sailing for decades to come! |

| WALK-IN TUB HIGHLIGHTS THIS UPDATED BATHROOM |
Check out this beautiful new walk-in tub ready to go for the two ladies in this South County home. Typically, we install walk/roll-in showers, but these residents thoroughly enjoy taking a bath. Since this daily task has become more difficult, we wanted to offer a solution that met the new challenges many face when aging. This highly functional tub will allow our residents to bathe in comfort, as they prefer, and age in their forever home! |
