Upkeep That Uplifts

Dear Friends,

At Promise Community Homes, a well-maintained home isn't just a feature of our specialty housing programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, it's the foundation of everything we do.

While major projects like installing ramps and renovating bathrooms provide much-needed accessibility features to the home, it's the smaller, quieter tasks that help preserve the independence and dignity of each and every resident on a daily basis.

Replacing smoke detector batteries, repairing leaky faucets, and cleaning gutters extend the life of the structure, maintain air quality, and prevent small problems before they become big ones. Most importantly, these tasks ensure nearly 300 incredible adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can continue living safely, comfortably, and independently in the neighborhoods they call home.

Across more than 80 properties, our Maintenance Team works around the clock to ensure every home is safe, stable, and made to last. Thank you for for helping us ensure that every resident not only has a place to live, but a place to stay — for life.

Warmly,

Matt Elmore

Executive Director

A Peek Inside PCH's Home Maintenance Projects

Some of our most recent home upkeep projects included resealing a driveway in one home and installing loose-fill insulation in the attic of another.

Resealing the driveway helps fill in cracks formed in the winter and provides protection from the upcoming summer heat, while the insulation will keep indoor temperatures stable and extend the life of the home's HVAC system.

These projects and more help turn these two houses into forever homes for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
