Momentum and Success

Dear Friends,

October has been one of our busiest and most fulfilling months yet. We’ve celebrated important wins, welcomed new collaborations, and seen the results of a lot of hard work come together. Each success has been a true testament to the dedication and resilience of our team, our supporters, and our community.

Earlier in the year, we faced challenges that tested our resolve and reminded us why our mission matters so deeply. Those moments weren’t easy, but they reminded us just how strong we are when we work together. The progress we’ve made since then has been a real source of pride, and it’s setting the stage for an even stronger 2026.

As we look to the year ahead, we can feel the excitement and momentum growing. Our new apartment building is well underway—a tangible step toward expanding access to safe, stable housing for Missourians who need it most. Alongside that progress, we’re also preparing to launch our new strategic plan, which will guide our vision for the next few years. This roadmap is built on the lessons, challenges, and successes over the last five decades. We can't wait to share it with you!

I invite you to take a look below for highlights from October that capture the spirit of what we’ve accomplished. Your support continues to make an impact! With your help, we're excited to keep the momentum going.

Enthusiastically,
Matt Elmore
Executive Director

THE GALA: MOONLIGHT & MARTINIS

The Gala: Moonlight & Martinis was a smashing success, raising nearly $200,000 for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Did we mention it was SOLD OUT!?

It was a pleasure to honor some of our community's most influential and supportive members. This year's honorees included:

Chuck Carpenter—2025 Humanitarian of the Year

Amy Wheeler & Sunnyhill Inc—2025 Partners of Progress (view her special thank you message here)

THANK YOU to Central Bank, Dolan Memory Care Homes, Sunnyhill Inc, Window World of St. Louis, our other sponsors, attendees, donors, the Gala committee, and all who contributed their time, talents, and treasures.

Because of this amazing community and the support from events like this, we carry our mission forward year after year.

WELCOME HOME

This month, two ladies moved into their new forever home, a PCH residence located in North St. Louis County.

As tradition, we prepared a welcome home basket filled with goodies and practical items to help them settle in!

Their new home is thoughtfully designed to better support their independence, mobility, and comfort—far more than their previous residence could.

GEPHARDT & WASHU at PCH

We were honored to host Washington University Gephardt Institute's Fellows and national council in our gym earlier this month for their annual dinner!

Over this summer, we were privileged to receive a Fellow, rising senior Michal Lan, who assisted Development Director Gabrielle Grundy-Lester in developing research tools, surveys, and protocols to help streamline important data collection.

During the evening’s program, we had the chance to share how PCH promotes inclusion through community housing. Additionally, Michael had the opportunity to present his research, and the impact this summer's fellowship had on his newfound passion for civil service.

Thank you, Washington University and the Gephardt Institute for an incredible summer!

NEW FLOORING = STABILITY

When a home becomes available, whether it’s a brand-new house or a transition between residents, we take the opportunity to make major updates like new flooring or bathroom renovations. This helps us make steady progress toward ensuring every PCH home is as accessible as possible without interrupting the routines or comfort of the people who live there.

The home pictured here received new floors, paint, and an updated bathroom. Solid floors throughout the home provide a continuous surface without transition barriers, helping residents move safely and confidently from one room to the next.

SAVE THE DATES FOR 2026
