Grant from the J.A. Grifols Foundation supports accessible bathroom renovations in PCH home

In January 2022, Promise Community Homes requested a grant of $25,000 to support accessibility renovations for our annual initiative, the H.O.M.E.S. Program (Housing Optimizing Medical and Emotional Stability). With support from the J.A.  Grifol’s Foundation, we planned to complete at least one bathroom renovation in a home near the Interstate Blood Bank in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon inspecting this home staff in the Operations Department determined that both bathrooms in the home need renovations to improve the accessibility of the home. By January 2023, we were pleased to finish renovating both bathrooms in the home so that anyone using a mobility aid would be able to access the bathroom’s shower. In the main bathroom, contractors installed a roll in shower and replaced the floor tile. The en suite bathroom received a major transformation, with the addition of a roll in shower and a barn door to make the entrance of the bathroom wide enough for a wheelchair. Thank you, J.A. Grifols Foundation, for your generosity and support!
