Promise Community Homes Names New Executive Director

Erin Eberhard Appointed On The Heels Of The Organization’s Rebranding Efforts

(St. Louis, MO, February 18, 2021) — Promise Community Homes (formerly known as Rainbow Village), the leading housing provider for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the region, is excited to announce the appointment of Erin Eberhard to the position of Executive Director. Eberhard succeeds Michael Rea, who retired after serving as a leader in the organization for 13 years.

“We are fortunate to have Erin join our leadership team at this pivotal moment in our history,” said Eileen Cole, President of the Promise Community Homes’ Board of Directors. “Erin is an exceptional and proven leader with a unique set of operational skills that will enable us to take Promise Community Homes to the next level. She is exactly what we need to navigate our new realities successfully.”

“I am proud to work alongside our remarkable Promise Community Homes’ team as we continue to deliver excellence, enhance operational efficiencies and add value for everyone we serve each day,” said Eberhard. “The organization has a rich 47-year history, and I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute to its strategic growth as we serve this unique population throughout the St. Louis area.”

Eberhard joins Promise Community Homes with more than 20 years of experience growing large non-profit organizations with a diverse population of employees, volunteers, and constituents. Previously serving in key leadership roles at Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, one of the nation’s largest Girl Scout councils, Erin was often recognized for prioritizing the needs of her team and community of eastern Missouri change-makers. She was also heavily involved in developing and implementing successful strategic plans, growing revenue, and improving recruitment, retention and engagement rates of members. Additionally, she established and cultivated legislative relationships for marginalized populations and advocated for full inclusion for individuals with disabilities in all programs.

“I’m delighted to pass the baton of leadership to Erin and look forward to teaming with her and the board to advance the vital mission of Promise Community Homes,” said Michael Rea. “It’s been a privilege to lead this organization, and I am extremely proud of the progress we have made over the past 13 years as well as the progress to come.”

Eberhard’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Promise Community Homes as its leadership team remains future- focused. To continue in their effort of being the preferred provider of safe and affordable neighborhood housing for adults with intellectual disabilities, they have undergone a recent rebranding. These changes, including a new name and logo, better communicate their unique product and service offerings. The leadership team is committed to building a sustainable financial future for Promise Community Homes and conveying its relevance in today’s complex and challenging world.
